EU policies and legislative framework of relevance for the extractive industry

Euromines has been working for 25 years in Brussels advising companies about the EU and Member States mineral policies and the EU legislative framework of relevance for permitting, operation and closure.

The EU legislative framework is complex with layers of EU and national legislation that are continuously being amended and therefore move the goal posts for every investor and operator.

It has provided several good practice guides in the area of environment, health and safety, and provides upon request training seminars for new-comers, companies and other interested parties.

Euromines is a major stakeholder in all legislative actions at EU level of concern to the extractive industry and therefore is always informed on latest developments. This includes the work on the BAT document on management of waste from the extractive industry  which is the basis for all permitting of new mines and quarries in Europe.
